游樂(lè)園工作的雷（克里斯?奧多德 Chris O’Dowd 飾）沉迷于時(shí)間旅行，在工作中因嚇壞小游客而被解雇。朋友皮特（迪恩?里濃斯?凱利 Dean Lennox Kelly 飾）和業(yè)余作家托比（馬克?伍頓 Marc Wootton 飾）在“恐龍漢堡店”扮恐龍打工，毫無(wú)前途。三人晚上來(lái)到酒吧打發(fā)時(shí)光，雷突然遇到一位叫凱西的美女（安娜?法瑞絲 Anna Faris 飾）。凱西自稱來(lái)自未來(lái)，是專門(mén)負(fù)責(zé)尋找時(shí)間漏洞的技術(shù)員，她來(lái)此是拜訪名人，因?yàn)槔自谖磥?lái)將是“偉大的雷”，并著有《時(shí)間旅行手冊(cè)》。皮特和托比不相信雷遇見(jiàn)了“未來(lái)美女”，認(rèn)為他是異想天開(kāi)編排電影。皮特去衛(wèi)生間小解，沒(méi)曾想竟偶然進(jìn)入了時(shí)間漏洞，出來(lái)后發(fā)現(xiàn)酒吧全是死人，包括他自己。驚慌四措的皮特將雷和托比也拽入了漏洞，從此開(kāi)始了一系列前后穿梭的時(shí)間旅行冒險(xiǎn)。
