提尔（阿克塞尔·施泰因 Axel Stein 饰）在银行工作已经15年之久了，和妻子米里亚姆（安娜·玛利亚·穆埃 Anna Maria Mühe 饰）之间的感情也非常的稳定。这15年间，提尔的生活一直风平浪静，每一天都是前一天的复制黏贴，虽然这样的日子难免会令提尔感到枯燥，但相比较而言，能够一家人一直幸福的生活在一起显然更加的重要。
这一天，提尔的生活彻底被颠覆了，他所在的银行里发生了抢劫案，劫匪是一位名叫纳博（莫里兹·布雷多 Moritz Bleibtreu 饰），前一天，纳博试图向提尔申请贷款，却被提尔拒绝了。就这样，提尔成为了纳博的俘虏，被迫跟随着这位劫匪先生一起踏上了逃往的旅途。
