范是家族的长子，但是他的长相平平，身材矮小，父亲经常不拿范当回事。一次范的女儿玛丽科打电话回来，告诉母亲苏斯自己准备结婚了。她的丈夫乔治是一个英国人，这让母亲犯了难。原来范的父亲十分讨厌英国人，所以当他得知了这个消息后立刻向范做出指示，要求范阻止这场婚礼。但是这个要求遭到了范的拒绝，因为范不知道这样女儿会不会幸福。几天后玛丽科带着乔治回到了家，范处处刁难乔治，但是乔治并没有很在意。相反他还觉得范很好玩，范在父亲的严厉要求下开始了他的计划。
