踌躇满志的青年导演（向飞 饰）计划投拍一部大片，好不容易攒齐人马，抵达四川外景地，谁知原定的两千万打了水漂剧组成员相继撤离，最后只剩下导演一人。万般无奈之下，导演找来负责排花絮的天津男（边辉 饰）、群众演员刘小花（刘芸 饰）以及送盒饭的青年（王宁 饰），分别委以摄影师、女主角和制片主任等重要职务，组成一个迷你御用班底。导演天花乱坠，带领三个懵懵懂懂的傻青年四处拉赞助，可是关键时刻掉链子，所费辛苦不少，最终手中空空，空欢喜一场。
失落的导演想方设法逃脱三个拖后腿的家伙，而他的大片梦想不知何时才能实现……
