Leaving on a jet plane

We are off to the States tomorrow! I’d like to say that our cases are lined up in the hall, the bins have been emptied, the plants have been watered and the fridge emptied.  Hopefully I’ll be able to say that by the end of today, if the butler and the maid get to it as per instructions.

Tomorrow our lift to the airport arrives at 6.30 am.  We take off to Newark at 10.30 and arrive at our eventual destination in Minneapolis at 3.30 am (our time).  We are really excited to be going despite the arduous journey and will have over two weeks catching up with famliy and friends.

In the middle we’re driving to North Dakota, which you might have heard about on the news this week- they are experiencing severe flooding.  I’ll let you know if we make it there.  Seems strange to arrive as everyone else is trying to leave.

On a totally unrelated note, I just read two really excellent books- “Girl Meets God” by Lauren Winner, and “Through Painted Deserts” by Donald Miller.  Am taking on holiday short stories by Alice Monroe, and novels by Carol Shields and Nicky Hornby and my Bible.

I’ll be in touch from the road.  Off to pack xxx
