Miners on Meds

August 30th, 2010

You may have been following the story in the news at the moment about the 33 trapped miners in Chille, and if you have, I wonder if you picked up the details of what has been sent down to them for their survival.  I find it fascinating.  They have been provided with food, rehydration tablets and help with sanitation- so far, so obvious.  They have been sent an exercise regime to keep them fit, and card games for recreation, and messages from their families.  And along with the news that they might be in their hot, smelly, dark underground prison for another four months, they were sent anti-depressant medication.  Whatever you may think about these little pills, in this situation they have been given a huge vote of confidence.  I hope they do their job and keep these brave men from sinking into despair.

Can't imagine what those miners must be going through. Kind of puts things in perspective doesn't it?? Hope you are doing okay. Working on your next book yet? x
