My girls and I have been effectively housebound for the past two weeks. It hasn’t been as bad as I might have expected. Lots of projects have been undertaken (it takes very severe weather indeed to drive me to wash the kitchen walls as I did yesterday) lots of imaginative playing has gone on, there has been baking, even magazines have been read. I have discovered that I don’t need to pack everyday as full as it can get to survive. It has been good to slow down and just be. I feel very blessed to have two fairly chilled out daughters who can potter at home when their fidgety mother can’t rush them around the place. And of course, in light of news from Haiti over the last two days, snow is a very minor inconvenience indeed.
